Well, this will be an adventure… picked up a quarter of a cow today from Bald Hill Farm in Corvallis.
There is a LOT of ground beef here. We hardly ever buy ground beef, so we’ll have to come up with some ways to use that. It’ll make some good pots of chili this winter!

We are halfway through our 1/4 cow we got last spring. Now we are thinking of a 1/4 pig. Are we nuts? It IS nice not to have to buy meat every time you go grocery shopping….

Not nuts! We’re trying to figure out where we can get chicken. Are you still interested in chicken? Want to go together to Deo Volente (or wherever) so we can get a better price?
Look on my resources page — I have a couple of farms listed that sell pork.

Ahh, I hear this a lot…Next time purchasing a quarter (or anytime, anyone) talk about your order; let us know you would like the least amount of ground meat possible. There are so many other options to eliminate too much ground beef, more roasts, steaks that can be thin sliced or marinated or even tenderized (like country fried steak) or stew meat. We at Bald Hill Farm appreciate your honesty and if you are ever disappointed in your purchase we would love to make it right, but you have to let us know! You need a 1/4 that will best suit you and your family, which can be achieved. Give us another shot when you are ready for more, and we’ll make sure you get what you where hoping for. Thank you so much for supporting your local, sustainable, food source.
