So, you know what it’s like when you neglect to call someone and then time passes and then you still don’t call because so much time has passed that now it’s awkward and then even more time passes so you start avoiding the phone altogether and at this point the phone train has left the station and the only real solution is to change your name and move to another state?
Er… what I mean is, I have a big round-up post in the works! Three weeks worth! Coming soon!
MEANWHILE, let’s talk about a few events happening a bit north of the valley.
Saturday, July 19th from 11am to Noon: Master Gardeners Workshop – Small Berries for Home Gardens at the Oregon City Farmers’ Market (2051 Kaen Rd). This is a 20 minute workshop presented by OSU Master Gardeners.
Saturday, July 19th from 6pm to 9pm: Demonstration Cooking Class – How to Grill Like a Pro at Cana’s Feast Winery in Carlton. The chef uses only what is fresh and local. Class includes dinner, wine and recipes. Each course will be served after it is completed and paired with a tasting of an appropriately paired wine. ($80 per person)
Sunday, July 20th from 6pm to 10pm: Wine Maker’s Dinner presented by the Dobbes Family Estate, “showcasing the local bounty of the Northwest and the exceptional diversity of the Dobbs Family Estate cellar.” To be held at the Brookside Inn (8243 NE Abbey Rd in Carlton). ($100 per person plus 18% gratuity)
Also this weekend:
da Vinci Days in Corvallis — First Alternative and Ten Rivers Food Web will both have booths in the “Green Scene Pavilion“. They are both great starting points if you want to think about eating locally!
